Tesco Bags of Help supports local community projects with funding. Your vote can help decide which project receives up to £4000, £2000 or £1000. We have been chosen for the November/December period, please post your token which you should receive each time you shop at Tesco’s!

Christmas Dinner for Field Lane Residents
Residents of Field Lane were treated to Christmas Dinner on Saturday (8th December 2018). The dinner was prepared and served by Young People from Field Lane supported by Young Peoples Service. The event was made possible by a grant from Community Foundation for Calderdale via iWill Youth Social Action. The residents were treated to a three course Christmas lunch with all trimmings followed by bingo and presents. The event was to encourage engagement and demonstrate how The Space @ Field Lane will be used to bring different generations together. Everyone had a thoroughly wonderful time, thank you!

The trustees of The Space @ Field Lane are delighted to announce that their application for a lottery grant has been successful and takes the funding to over two thirds of their target of £480,000. This means the project can move very positively forward and real signs of progress will soon be obvious. The trustees would like to take this opportunity to thank absolutely everyone who has been involved so far and look forward to continuing this amazing project. Thank You!

The Tree of Light
December 3rd 2017
“The Tree of Light” was blessed by Canon Michael Storey and switched on by Chris Redfearn (Brighouse Rotary) outside Sainsbury’s today. The event was also attended by the Mayor of Calderdale Coun Ferman Ali, Graham Walker, president of Brighouse Rotary, representatives from The Space @ Field Lane project – Mary Green, Derek Dodkins and Anne Gomersal and several Field Lane young people and residents.

I had the opportunity today to visit the centre and take some photos.
The visit gave me the opportunity to see the potential of the building but also the enormity of the project. To bring the building up to modern standards everything needs renewing i.e. wiring, lighting, heating, roof, toilets, kitchen, windows and doors. All this in addition to alterations to make the building more flexible to accommodate many activities.

The Clean Up!
Volunteers from Halifax Bank spent a day clearing 30 years of rubbish and cleaning the kitchen, after a hard days work they relaxed with a game of pool.
