Week Fifteen & Sixteen

The building work is on schedule and progressing well, roof complete, external windows and doors fitted, kitchen installation complete, ceiling installed, floor laid and all electric, lights and alarms working, toilets and changing places fitted and patio laid.

Week Thirteen & Fourteen

Let there be light! Still lots of activity at The Space decorating, flooring, ceiling tiles, guttering and exterior lights.

Week Eleven & Twelve

Another major step forward, the ceiling grid has been installed, the roof is finished, kitchen looking good! Amazing!

Week Nine & Ten

Work progresses at a pace, installing wiring, doors, pipes, ducting, radiators and kitchen. Roof nearly finished! The large windows, patio door and new entrance make the building so much more attractive!

Week Eight

Week eight - windows and doors installed, roof nearly finished, walls plastered and air conditioning started.

Week Seven

Another lovely March day! Work on the roof has started, extension finished. Storage cupboards and kitchen plastered, plumbing started and partition wall built.

Week Six

New openings for windows and doors, storage cupboards and roof on the extension.

Week Four & Five

Work continues apace despite 'Storm Gareth' the extension is almost complete and knocked through from the new entrance, new window openings prepared and much more cabling and cable trays installed.

Week Three

Stripping out continues, extension coming on and wiring racks being fitted!

Week Two

What a difference! As the photos show kitchen and bar removed, floor and ceiling stripped out, demolition of interior walls started and on the outside foundations for changing places extension laid.

Week One

Work by Walter West Builders has started this week with erection of perimeter fences, most of the internal fittings have been removed, foundations for extension (that will house the new toilets including a “Changing Places” fully equipped accessible facility) and stripping of the floor has begun.

The Handover

The keys to the building were officially handed to representatives of Walter West builders who have been selected to carry out the refurbishment of the community centre. The work will start on Monday 11th February 2019 for 16 weeks. We politely request during this time, for your safety, that you do not enter the site. Thank you.

National Lottery Community Fund

Stephen Gould, The National Lottery Funding Officer with responsibility for Calderdale accompanied by Alex Straughan, visited ‘The Space @ Field Lane’ on Friday 8th February 2019, he was given a guided tour and met with trustees to discuss the project. He was very complimentary and reassured us that his support of our charity during building phase would be his priority.

Empty Spaces

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of many people (too many to name) ‘The Space @ Field Lane’ is now empty and ready for builders to move in on Monday (11th February 2019)Paragraph
